Innosilicon is planning on releasing its own next-generation bitcoin miner, the T2 Turbo, later in 2018. They also claim to be releasing a T2 Turbo+ (spelled on the website as the “T2 Turbo+”). The T2 Turbo purports a hash rate of 24 TH/s for 1980W where the Turbo+ (lol) purports a hash rate of 32 TH/s for 220W, which will be available the 10th – 20th of October.

The T2 Turbo would be more efficient than its Bitmain rivals, but may not be able to keep up with the next generation miners being released in late 2018, early 2019.

Innosilicon is however a reputable seller of equipment and therefore it is unlikely that this is an outright fabrication. Innosilicon differentiates itself on its partnership with Samsung and their development processes. Roger Mao, the vice president of engineering, Innosilicon explains the new T2 and T2-Turbo will provide miners with lower operational risk and a better return-on-investment (ROI) against other miners over the next 12-24 months. “Innosilicon and Samsung will go a long way as good partners to deliver many more exciting low power products in the market in the coming years,” Mao emphasized.

At 2200W, the Innosilicon T2-Turbo is an ideal choice for colocation. This unit performs optimally when using 208, 220 or 240V power sources which are often difficult or impossible to find at residential locations. The miner produces a lot of heat so it is best run in a location with a managed climate.
